The goal of Hardly Hustle is to provide inspiration, drive and motivation in a 10 minute read or less. What you see is what you get. This is hot off the press without an editing team.

Manuhe Abebe is up.

Manuhe Abebe

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Manuhe Abebe, and I’m a senior at Apex Friendship High School. I hope to attend North Carolina State University to Major in Business Administration with a minor in entrepreneurship. I am currently the Director of Business Development at Neutron Creative Inc. Neutron Creative is a WordPress Operations firm based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. We provide full-service WordPress Operations for small-large businesses around the world. Neutron Creative is also a member of the Google Cloud Partner Advantage Program.

I was also one of the students who lead to the creation of the website Triangle Innovation Hub. Triangle Innovation Hub was created out of the community’s need for a valuable, user-centric, and responsive resource guide built for the public and the entrepreneurship community. My story would not be complete without saying I am also a proud District C Alum! I want to give a huge shout out to Anne Jones, Dan Gonzalez, and Kat Jackson for making my District C experience worthwhile. If it wasn't for the work they've done to help me, I wouldn't know where I'd be today! Please check them out at https://www.districtc.co

What did it take and how did you get started?

Hard work. Being a first-generation student, it has been much harder for me to get started. Thus mentors from the Applied Synergies Partnership and District C have helped me tremendously.

What does the future look like for you and your hustle?

I plan to work with Neutron Creative full-time after college, and also want to start a nonprofit, which I’m still largely figuring out. What drives / motivates you?

My drive comes from being a first-generation student. Opportunities are hard enough to create but are made even harder for students like myself. This changed for me however with District C. They provided me with the skills necessary to go out and network, and to find resources myself.

Not only District C though has made an impact. My entrepreneurship teacher, Mr. Jackson, his Applied Synergies Partnership Program, has had a significant impact on me by showing me that having the mindset and ability to set your eyes on something and then going after it is what’s going to set you apart from others.

What advice would you give someone interested in doing what you do?

Don't be lazy and make excuses by saying that you're too young to do something! I have said that numerous times but I realized that age really does not matter if you have passion and grit.

What has been the hardest part of the hustle?

Staying focused because you can always get sidetracked into doing something. I personally try and focus on one thing and let the rest fall into place.

How many hours a week do you work on this hustle? Usually 15 hours. There are times where I need to stop and take time to myself, sit down, and figure out what I'm going to do next. It's always good to have some me time!

When did you start? I started working with Neutron Creative in April of 2018.
