Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Patrick Brown & I’m a cofounder of Reignlist, a Real Estate Tech startup designed to arm real estate professionals, not replace them. Reignlist stands for Real Estate Interactive Global Network as a listing service & is based out of Raleigh NC, but will soon move operations to Wilmington NC, an emerging tech location. My background is in business development & B2B sales.

What did it take / how did you get started?


Starting-ups take patience, dedication, and perseverance. Reignlist started by recognizing gaps on current real estate platforms for both professionals & consumers. The next step was asking ourselves, how can we fix these problems? From there, we created a functionality roadmap for Reignlist that mutually benefits professionals & consumers. We started answering questions like, “Why does a real estate agent have to pay so much money to place THEIR listings on MLS, to then see those listings be sold to mega marketing platforms, to then be asked by those mega marketing companies to pay money for leads generated off THEIR information? Isn’t that asking them to pay twice for information that belongs to them?” “Why can’t a consumer search, save, message, & inquire about real estate information without being asked to sacrifice their name, number, and email to be sold over and over again?” “Why aren’t there alternative platforms for trade service professionals, mortgage professionals, and other real estate professionals to be reached transparently?” Once we answered these questions from a logical perspective, we decided to bring these solutions that offer cross-functionality into one place. Reignlist offers Real Estate For Sale or Rent, Professional & Trade Services, Mortgage Professionals, Vacation Rentals, Reign Requests for consumers who do want to be contacted by a professional, and Reignboards for professionals who want to share their work. After these steps, the development started. At our core, Reignlist is a one-stop-shop for all things real estate that safeguards the interest of our professionals and consumers.

What does the future look like for you and your hustle?

The future is bright for Reignlist. We Launch in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill NC on January 4th. This happens to be one of the hottest real estate markets in the country despite the unfortunate pandemic. During our preliminary marketing campaign, we garnered nearly 1000 real estate professionals in this market to start our launch. We’re excited to see our solutions come to life in practice.

What drives / motivates you?

I’m intrinsically motivated by nature, but that motivation turned into an obsession with Reignlist. An obsession born through creating a product that delivers solutions for millions, overcoming obstacles, building a team, and finding ways to get things finished.

What advice would you give someone interested in doing what you do?

Believe in what you’re doing despite the many challenges surrounding you. Never forget your “why” that drives you with your startup & always celebrate victories no matter how small. No one is going to demonstrate the same level of excitement as you, even other company leaders and that’s okay.

What has been the hardest part of the hustle?

The hardest part of this hustle is understanding that things move slower than you’d like. It’s uncomfortable to move slow especially as you hear about startups “taking off” but the reality is it doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve learned that time gave me the opportunity to create a clear direction, time gave me the ability to surround myself with the right people, and time helped me grow as a leader.
