Who are you and what do you do?
Hi! I’m Candice Brink, Founder of Commnetix, and I specialize in solving the internal execution crisis for mission-driven companies. I believe internal communication is the operational heart of any thriving business. Commnetix provides data-driven communication audits and strategy consulting.
We diagnose the clarity gaps, align the messaging, and deliver the actionable blueprint leaders need to transform internal chaos into a connected, high-performing workplace. I provide the strategic foundation for sustainable growth. P.S. We are also open to providing fractional executive operations capacity for urgent, project-based execution needs.
What did it take/how did you get started?
Honestly? It took two things: a deep respect for my skills and the decision to build my own operating model. First, it was a moment of market clarity. I was running executive operations—managing investor comms, designing entire goal systems—in my prior roles. I saw that my specialized expertise in translating high-level strategy into clear, executable internal communication systems had a far broader market value.
The most strategic path was to pivot and offer that expertise to multiple clients. Second, it was non-negotiable that my business had to accommodate my life. My ultimate career goal is to build a high-impact business that serves my family and my ambition simultaneously. I decided to design a consulting firm that allowed me to do both, part-time. That commitment was the foundation.
What does the future look like for you and your business?
The future of Commnetix is about securing its position as the gold standard for internal communication strategy while proving that peak executive performance doesn't require burnout. For Commnetix, the future means deepening our specialized impact. We will move from general consulting to establishing the Internal Communication Audit and Strategy Blueprint as our signature deliverable.
We won't chase every client; we will relentlessly focus on those mission-driven companies facing chaotic growth that need immediate, data-driven answers to their execution problems. This allows us to maximize our impact, maintain a lean model, and focus purely on solving the complex systemic issues I love to untangle. Personally, my future is defined by intentionally integrating my ambition with my role as a mom. I am building a business that fully accommodates my life. I will continue to utilize the Fractional Executive Operations model.
This is the financial engine that allows me to earn based on my high-level experience while working 15–25 hours a week. Every successful audit and every client win is proof that I can be a strategic leader and a present parent. My ultimate goal is to validate that success is achieved through strategic, high-leverage impact, not just hours logged, and to continue building a successful, flexible business entirely on my own authentic terms.
What drives / motivates you on a daily basis?
My family, and the satisfaction of creating the clarity and alignment that allows people and organizations to thrive together.
What advice would you give someone interested in doing what you do?
Go for it, take things little by little, and never stop moving: Consistent effort always outperforms doing nothing at all.
What has been the hardest part of your business journey?
The hardest part has been the mental challenge of operating at every altitude, all at once. It’s easy to do the high-level strategy, but the constant and immediate shift from board-level thinking to handling my own marketing, invoicing, and social media is the ultimate test.
It's tough, but it forces me to be the most disciplined business owner I can be. This challenge of wearing all the hats is exactly why Commnetix is built on systems, because I refuse to let the administrative chaos slow down the strategic vision.
How have you managed burnout thus far?
Burnout isn't a badge of honor; it's a structural failure, and I manage it by setting aggressive boundaries and prioritizing my energy. For me, that recharge is heavily social, I'm an extrovert, so I make it a non-negotiable priority to catch up with friends frequently. That time is essential fuel. Operationally, I combat mental fatigue by keeping my business streamlined: I rely on making lists on the regular to plan, prioritize, and capture every thought so I don't carry the mental load around all day.
The absolute greatest defense is setting digital boundaries: I stay the F off of social media and enforce phone-free time, especially on weekends. Finally, I prep ahead. Every day ends by making a list of top priorities and to-dos for the upcoming day ahead.
What are a few resources that you'd recommend?
For anyone starting a business in North Carolina, the single best resource I recommend is the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Small Business Advisors. They offer free, one-on-one consultations to anyone starting a new business. Link: https://edpnc.com/get-business-support/start-a-business/#sba-contact

What's the #1 thing you need right now?
The #1 thing I need right now is focused visibility to Founders and C-Suite leaders at mission-driven companies. My bottleneck isn't capacity; it's consistently getting the Internal Communication Audit and Strategy Blueprint in front of the exact high-growth leaders who are currently wrestling with execution chaos. The focus is on reaching the right room, not just filling the room.
